Which graphics cards are supported by the ZED SDK?

Our USB cameras are UVC-compliant and can be connected to any platform that recognizes UVC devices. However, to use the ZED SDK, you will need an NVIDIA® GPU with Compute Capability >= 7.5, based on the Turing micro-architecture or a more recent one.

In practice, this means an NVIDIA® RTX-class GPU (GeForce RTX, RTX Ada/Professional, or equivalent); for the best experience, we recommend an RTX model with more than 6 GB of VRAM.

See NVIDIA's website for the complete list of CUDA-capable GPUs and their Compute Capability.

Recommended system specifications

  PC Minimum PC Recommended
RAM 8 GB 16 GB
Graphics Card NVIDIA® RTX GPU (Compute Capability >= 7.5) NVIDIA® RTX model with > 6 GB VRAM
Connectivity USB 2.0 * USB 3.0
Operating System Windows, Ubuntu Windows, Ubuntu

* With USB 2.0, the maximum supported resolution is VGA at 30 FPS.

Embedded systems

The ZED SDK also runs on NVIDIA® Jetson™ embedded platforms:

  • Supported modules: NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin family (4 GB RAM minimum); NVIDIA® Jetson™ Thor support is under development and can have some limitations.
  • Operating System: Jetson™ Linux (L4T).
  • Connectivity: USB 2.0 / USB 3.0 / GMSL2 (for ZED X cameras with a ZED Link capture card or a ZED Box).

You can download the ZED SDK for Jetson™ from our Developers page.

NVIDIA® drivers

We recommend using the latest NVIDIA® drivers available for your desktop/laptop GPU; see the NVIDIA® Driver Download page for Windows, or install nvidia-open / cuda-drivers via apt on Ubuntu. This is not required on Jetson™ systems, as the drivers are already included in the Jetson™ Linux distribution.

For the full list of supported operating system versions and detailed specifications, please refer to the Recommended Specifications page and the ZED SDK release page.
