What type of GMSL2 cable should I use with my ZED X camera?
Last updated: October 23, 2026

All StereoLabs GMSL2 cameras (ZED X, ZED X Mini, ZED X Nano, ZED X One GS, ZED X One S, and ZED X One 4K) have a male FAKRA Z connector on the back of the camera. They require a coaxial cable with at least one female FAKRA connector.

The connector on the other side of the coaxial cable depends on your configuration:
Direct connection to a ZED Link Mono capture card, a ZED Box Mini, or a ZED Box Orin NX 8GB (old version with a single connector): use a Female-to-Female cable (available in 0.3 m, 1.5 m, 5 m, and 10 m).

Direct connection to a ZED Link Duo or ZED Link Quad capture card, a ZED Box Orin, a ZED Box 2, or a ZED Box 2 Max (T4000 / T5000): use the GMSL2 FAKRA 1-to-4 Male-to-Female cable (0.5 m), which splits a quad connector of the device into four female connectors. The ZED Link Quad, the ZED Box 2, and the ZED Box 2 Max have two quad connectors, so they need two 1-to-4 cables to connect up to 8 cameras.

Extending a GMSL2 cable: use a Male-to-Female extension cable (available in 0.5 m, 1.5 m, 5 m, 10 m, and 15 m). Where space is limited, a Right-Angle extension cable is also available.

Maximum cable length
The maximum total length of the GMSL2 connection is 15 meters; longer connections can cause disconnection issues.
Each cable-to-cable coupling can introduce noise and further reduce the maximum total length. To minimize the number of couplings, use the longest cables that fit your setup.

All the GMSL2 cables are available in the accessories section of the StereoLabs store.
