What is the readout time of the ZED 2i camera?
Last updated: October 23, 2026
The ZED 2i uses rolling shutter image sensors: the image is read out line by line, so the readout time depends on the resolution and frame rate settings. The ZED 2i is equipped with two OmniVision OV4689 sensors.
The line time (the time needed to read out one line of the sensor) of the ZED 2i for each video mode is:
Video mode | Line time |
|---|---|
HD2K @ 15 FPS | 44.8 µs |
HD1080 / HD720 @ 15 FPS | 51.2 µs |
HD1080 / HD720 @ 30 FPS | 25.6 µs |
HD720 @ 60 FPS | 15.7 µs |
WVGA @ 15 FPS | 61.9 µs |
WVGA @ 30 FPS | 31.5 µs |
WVGA @ 60 FPS | 26.1 µs |
WVGA @ 100 FPS | 15.6 µs |
The total readout time of a frame is approximately the line time multiplied by the number of sensor lines read out in the selected mode.
Note: the ZED X, ZED X Mini, ZED X Nano, ZED X One GS, ZED X One S, and ZED X One Core use global shutter sensors, which expose all the pixels at the same time: images of fast-moving objects are free from rolling shutter distortion. See the comparison table for the sensor type of each camera.
